Welcome to VisitKirkley.com: Our Story

VisitKirkley.com was created by a small group of local volunteers who shared one simple goal – to showcase everything that makes Kirkley such a wonderful place to live, work, and visit. From our independent shops and cafés to our beach, parks, and community events, the website celebrates the vibrant spirit and character of our seaside neighbourhood.

The project was originally launched with funding and support from the Lowestoft (London Road South) Heritage Action Zone – a four-year, heritage-led regeneration scheme funded by Historic England and East Suffolk Council. This early investment helped us create a platform to celebrate Kirkley’s history, promote local businesses, and share its unique seaside charm.

Like many community projects, VisitKirkley.com has also benefitted from the continued support of our East Suffolk County Councillors – Peter Byatt, Malcolm Pitchers, and Louise Gooch. We are deeply grateful for their belief in what we do; without their help, the website might not have been able to continue.

We’re equally proud to work with Glen Manship of Red Hot Media, an independent business based right here on Kirkley High Street. Glen designed the original website and continues to provide invaluable support in keeping it running smoothly.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and teamwork, VisitKirkley.com continues to grow as a true community hub — created by volunteers, for the benefit of Kirkley.
